Disabled Persons’ Bus Accessibility and Paratransit

Bus Accessibility

All buses are equipped with ramps or lifts to serve riders who use wheelchairs and riders who have difficulty climbing stairs. One attendant can ride free with any fare-paying passenger with a disability. People with disabilities may be accompanied on the bus by a service animal. Metro also provides free transit instruction to seniors and people with disabilities who want to ride the bus. For more information on bus accessibility go online or call Metro (831) 425-8600 Mon-Fri 8 am-4 pm.

Paratransit

The Santa Cruz METRO Transit District also offers ADA paratransit service for those disabled people who are unable to use regular METRO buses. Information on the program is online; for registration information, please call (831) 425-4664.

Lift Line provides door-to-door transportation for disabled residents of Santa Cruz County. For more information about services and fares, call (831) 688-9663 or (831) 425-1558.
