King St.
Arana Gulch
Coastal Rail Trail
San Lorenzo Bike Bridge
The City of Santa Cruz is studying the possibility of enhancing King Street as a bicycle route and an alternative over Mission Street. King Street is a residential collector running approximately parallel to Mission Street from near High Street in the north/east to Swift Street at the south/west (from Cyclebetter.com).
As of August 2008, the City of Santa Cruz will be doing a traffic study measuring the impact of changing King St. to be more bicycle friendly.
People Power is a good site to visit to stay updated on the project.

The Arana Gulch Plan is on hold at the California Coastal Commission.
The purchase of the rail corridor between Davenport and Watsonville will hopefully be completed by January 2009. The purchase opens the way to the construction of a bicycle/pedestrian trail along with freight and passenger train service.
