Energy Upgrade California
The Ecology Action Climate Group is leading the implementation of Ecology Action’s contribution to the Energy Upgrade California program – a State-wide energy and water efficiency and renewable energy generation retrofit program for single- and multi-family residential and commercial buildings, financed in part through American Reinvestment and Recovery Act funding.
Energy Upgrade California is a state-wide collaboration between the Energy Commission, the Public Utilities Commission, utilities, local governments and the private sector.
Energy Upgrade California aims to coordinate federal, state, utility and local government retrofit program outreach, incentives and contractor and participant qualifications. The goal of the program is to transform California’s energy efficiency market, significantly improve the energy and water efficiency of the State’s building stock and change consumer behavior by:
Coordinating with local communities and agencies to engage and educate property owners, contractors, building officials, real estate professionals and other stakeholders
Streamlining access to information through a one-stop web-portal resource for information on building retrofit benefits, financing and incentives, finding a qualified contractor, workforce training and home energy ratings
This program will be implemented in phases throughout 2011.
