Energy Efficiency Specialist

Summary

The Energy Efficiency Specialist will work primarily in the field, visiting customers to evaluate their energy systems, to identify appropriate upgrades and to sell the owners or managers on the benefits of the recommended measures. There are several available openings for this position and this position will serve the county of San Mateo and surrounding counties.

Responsibilities

• Approach and build relationships with prospective business participants
• Conduct comprehensive energy efficiency audits.
• Identify and complete direct installation of certain measures.
• Conduct post-installation quality control inspections.
• Employ a continuous program improvement process in the daily workflow
• Reach and exceed sales and customer satisfaction targets
• Organize sales strategy and manage territory
• Compile accurate and timely forecasts

Required Skills

The Specialist must have demonstrable experience of the following:
• Customer sales or marketing experience
• Accuracy with reporting analysis and ability for strong attention to detail
• Ability to acquire and use technical information accurately in the field
• Ability to excel in a commissioned sales environment
• Ability to adapt work style and approach to evolving market conditions
• Computer proficiency
• Excellent oral communication and presentation skills

Desired Skills

• Small/medium commercial energy efficiency audit or installation
• Electrical contracting, maintenance or equivalent in another field

Education/Training

• BA/BS or five years experience in a professional setting.

Work Environment

Generally, the work environment is in the field with minimal time in the office. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. A personal vehicle is required and mileage will be reimbursed as per federal guidelines.

Compensation

The compensation for this position consists of total cash compensation range $50,000 to $74,000. This translates to a base salary of $34,000 to $54,000 annually, an additional 5% quarterly performance payment, and monthly incentive compensation based on kilowatt hours saved. This monthly incentive compensation is targeted at $15,000 per year with no cap In addition to cash compensation, Ecology Action offers a generous benefit package that includes flexible health benefits provided through a cafeteria plan and a 401k retirement plan with immediate vesting of the 4% employer contribution.
